🌵 My experience with rock climbing had left impressions in my mind, and lead me to paint scenic areas outdoors by studying the play of light. In the hill country it's not an uncommon sight to see cactus clinging to the limestone bluffs, reaching for the sun near the steel chains of routes. This particular scene had caught my eye, after topping out a limestone line along the water of Lake Travis.
I wanted to convey the intense chroma of reflected light that I constantly feel when i'm in the sunlight. ☀️
